Every once in a while, a project comes across my desk, reaches out, and challenges me with how to bring it to life. When that happens, I ask a select few in my circle for help. With the everyday admin of running a sign business, I get out of the practice of being creative. So, I jump at every chance to do so. In this industry, one needs to be creative not only with what is visual on a canvas, or on your computer screen, but with how to bring something into existence. Fulton reached out and asked if I can make the Thunderbird from an image. I didn’t know it at the time but, he wanted it on his home because it’s a popular icon with the tribes on the reservation where he grew up. And, his Indian nickname “Fose” means bird. Understanding what this means for him really gives me an extra sense of pride on a job well done, for me and for those who were involved.
